The Deoriatal–Chandrashila Trek is a perfect blend of natural beauty, spirituality, and adventure. From the emerald waters of Deoriatal Lake reflecting snow-clad peaks to the sacred Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, every step feels magical. The summit at Chandrashila (13,000 ft) rewards trekkers with breathtaking 360° views of Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Trishul, and Kedarnath peaks, especially during sunrise. Verdant forests, blooming rhododendrons, and vast meadows make this trek one of the most picturesque journeys in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Itinerary
Day 2: Trek from Sari → Deoriatal
Trek Distance: 3 km | 2-3 hrs
After breakfast, we start a short but steep trek to Deoriatal (7,800 ft). The emerald lake reflects Mt. Chaukhamba, offering a picture-perfect setting. Evening at leisure with hot tea and dinner by the lakeside campsite.
Day 1: Rishikesh → Sari
Duration: 7-8 hours |
Drive Distance: 200 km
We begin our adventure with a scenic drive along the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers, passing through Devprayag and Rudraprayag. By evening, we reach Sari village (6,600 ft), our base for the trek. A warm dinner and comfortable guesthouse stay await you here.
Day 3: Trek from Deoriatal → Chopta via Rohini Bugyal
Trek Distance: 14 km | 6-7 hrs
Today’s trail winds through rhododendron forests and meadows with panoramic Himalayan views. We trek via Rohini Bugyal and reach Chopta (8,700 ft), often called the “Mini Switzerland of India.” Camp overnight.
Day 4: Summit Day – Chopta → Tungnath → Chandrashila (13,000 ft) → Back to Chopta
Trek Distance: 8 km round trip | 6–7 hrs
We begin early to trek up to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. From there, we ascend further to Chandrashila Peak (13,000 ft), offering 360° views of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath. Descend back to Chopta for the night.
Day 5: Drive from Chopta → Rishikesh
Drive to Dehradun (200 km, 7–8 hrs)
After breakfast, we board vehicles for the return journey. The scenic drive via Rudraprayag and Devprayag brings us back to Rishikesh by evening. Trek ends with unforgettable memories
